What endures, whatever builds the thing.
The tools change every year. The people on the other side of the work change very slowly.
Hands, eyes, attention, fatigue, the distance a thumb can reach. Every interface and every building still meets a body at some point, and the body has not been updated.
Generation answers “how”. It does not answer “whether”. Deciding what deserves to exist, and taking responsibility for it, remains the centre of the job.
People trust a product the way they trust a person: through consistency over time. A system that can change its interface overnight still has to earn trust at the same old speed.
A site, a culture, a regulation, a neighbourhood. Global models produce global answers, and the designer’s knowledge of a particular place and particular people becomes more valuable, not less.
People notice when something was made with attention, even when they can’t say what they noticed. As the average gets better, the gap between average and cared-for becomes the thing people pay for.
